Arcanum School

In July 2009, Messer Construction awarded Milcon Concrete with a contract to construct a brand new school for the city of Arcanum.  This project was completed by December of 2010 with an estimated cost of over $850,000.  The Arcanum school project was challenging due to this being a very large project that had an extremely tight schedule and budget.  The weather conditions were also a hindrance during the process of completing this project but the Milcon Concrete crew stuck with it and finished on time and on budget!

As stated by Doug Hartman, the field supervisor,  “Arcanum School was challenging due to the fact that it was one project, a K-12 that basically had 6 wings with a hallway connecting all of the wings and each part elementary, middle  and high school where all being constructed at once. We had 3 excavation and foundation crews working at the same time. There was over 1.5 miles of footer excavated and poured in 3 weeks. The total yards of concrete placed on this project was over 4000 yards.”

Being as Milcon has a “vast” experience with schools we were up to the task of building this school for Arcanum because of our experience with educational projects.
